Sharing is caring!

Updated April 9th, 2024

SereneLife SLPUMP30

The best accessory you can buy for an inflatable paddleboard is a good electric pump. Hand pumping paddleboards is the worst part of owning and using an inflatable paddleboard. Serenelife makes the most popular cheap paddleboard available along with a few electric pumps. We decided to check out the Serenelife SLPUMP30 to see how it compares to other electric pumps. It can inflate, deflate, and has quick inflation times. Keep reading to get the full review and test of the Serenelife SLPUMP30 electric paddleboard pump.

What we liked:

  • Cheap cost for a 2 stage electric air pump
  • Good inflation times for regular and large boards
  • Simple and easy to use controls

What we didn’t like:

  • Target pressure not shown on the display while inflating
  • Questionable warranty and customer service
  • Cannot pump more than 1 board without cooling off

Features of the Serenelife SLPUMP30 Electric Pump

The Serenelife SLPUMP30 is one of the most popular electric paddle board pumps on Amazon. It is one of the cheapest 2 stage pumps that can also deflate boards. It has a lot of positive reviews and it is sold under many brands and sellers. The Seamax SUP20D is one of the other most popular versions of this pump. Tuomico, ISSYAUTO, Furein, and Swonder are all popular sellers of this pump.

We purchased a Serenelife SLPUMP30 to see how it compares to other popular pumps. As always, we will give you all the good and bad of every item we review.

See our review of the Serenelife SLPUMP10 for a smaller, lighter, single stage pump. It costs a little less and takes a few minutes longer to inflate most boards.

Price

The Serenelife SLPUMP30 currently sells on Amazon for $65.60. The pump is available from several sellers under their own brands. The price range runs from $65 to $100 for this pump. This puts it cheaper than many of the popular 2 stage pumps. If you never need to inflate more than 1 board at a time, it’s worth checking out.

The cheap item rule of Amazon applies. If you see something that looks exactly the same from several different sellers on Amazon it’s the same product. Go for the cheapest seller because you are getting the same thing either way.

Warranty

Serenelife mentions a 1 year warranty in the questions section for this item. A check of the comments and ratings reveals people have not had any luck getting warranty replacements. Assume when you buy this item that it does not have a warranty.

Size and weight

This pump measures 9.8″ x 6.9″ x 6.1″. It weighs around 4.25 lbs. This makes it about average for 2 stage inflatable paddleboard electric pumps. It will fit in most paddleboard bags that aren’t too full.

12 volt power

The Serenelife SUP Pump has a 10 foot cord with a standard 12 volt DC plug on it. It will work with almost any car, truck, or SUV with 12 volt outlet.

It does not include a set of alligator clips or any other adapters to work from other power sources.

Stand up paddle board compatibility

The Serenelife electric pump has a detachable air hose with a set of connectors on one end. A variety of rubber gaskets are included so you can put the correct thickness on any of the air valves.

It will work with almost any paddleboard or other inflatable water toy out there. It has the following valve adapters. H3/HR, C7, Boston, Pinch, and 805. This will cover almost every inflatable paddleboard, kayak, and water sports toys out there.

Max pressure

This pump can inflate up to 20 psi. You can adjust the air pressure in 0.5 psi or bar increments.

Inflate and deflate

The pump has inflate and deflate modes. You change by connecting the air hose up to the appropriate outlet.

1 board at a time

This pump is only designed to inflate 1 board at a time. According to the user manual, it should not be run for more than 20 minutes at a time. After 20 minutes of work time, it should be allowed to cool for 30 minutes before using again. You may be able to inflate 2 smaller boards in less than 20 minutes.

Digital Display and Controls

The pump has easy to use controls and a small digital display that are built into the pump handle. The display shows the target pressure before you start the pump. After it’s running it shows the current pressure down to 0.01 psi. The display is easy to read outdoors in bright sunlight.

It does not show target pressure while pumping. We strongly prefer pumps that do show this. 20 psi is high enough pressure to damage many boards. We prefer pumps that show the current pressure and target pressure while the pump is working. You aren’t left wondering what pressure it was set at when you hit go.

It has 4 buttons for controls. A + and – button for adjusting target pressure. A power button for starting and stopping the pump. A PSI/Bar button to change the units.

This is an intelligent DC electric pump. It will auto-shutoff when the set pressure is reached. You should not leave the pump unattended while it is running.

Using the pump

The Serenelife SLPUMP30 is really easy to use. Plug it into your paddleboard. Plug the 12 volt plug into your car power outlet. Set the target pressure to the correct value for your inflatable SUP. Hit the power button to start. Sit back and wait while it inflates your board. It will auto shut off when the target pressure is reached.

Inflation time

We do 2 inflation tests on every paddleboard pump we try. The first is inflating a generic 10’6″ x 32″ All Around board to 14 psi. Next we inflate a 12’6″ x 30″ touring board to 15 psi and 20 psi. This gives a good sample of how long each pump takes to inflate larger or smaller paddleboards.

It took the SLPUMP30 8 minutes and 12 seconds to inflate a 10’6″ all around board to 14 psi. This was close to an Outdoor Master Shark 2 and about a minute slower than an iRocker electric pump.

Inflating boards to 20 psi

It took the SLPUMP30 9 minutes and 27 seconds to inflate the 12’6″ x 30″ board to 15psi. It took 14 minutes and 20 seconds to inflate it to 20 psi. This was similar to the Outdoor Master Shark 2 up to 15 psi but it was about a minute slower getting to 20 psi.

It is about a minute slower than the iRocker pump getting to 15 psi and over 2 minutes slower getting to 20 psi.

See the table below to see how this pump compares to other pumps we have tested and reviewed.

How many boards can it pump in a row?

According to the manual, the pump can be damaged if it runs for more than 20 minutes. We did not try to inflate 2 boards right away. We waited half an hour between the 10’6″ all around board and the 12’6″ touring board. It was about 85F and sunny out while doing our timed tests. We had no issues or problems with the pump so far.

Noise

This pump is noisy once it goes into its second stage air compressor mode. Every electric paddle board pump we have tried is noisy during this time. I have not tried one yet I would say is better or worse from 1.5 psi to completion while operating in air compressor mode.

The Verdict

The Serenelife SLPUMP30 is a good cheap electric paddleboard pump. It can inflate boards up to 20 psi in a reasonable amount of time. It can both inflate and deflate. It can’t inflate several boards in a row and isn’t as fast as other pumps. It costs much less also. It is a great companion to go with a Serenelife, Funwater, or other cheap paddleboards.
