Features of the Redfin Hatteras Sunglasses

We found out about Redfin Polarzied Sunglasses when they offered us a set for review. They specialize in producing fishing sunglasses. I am not an avid fisherman by any means. I do paddleboard, kayak, and sail a lot and need good sunglasses for on the water. What makes Redfin Polarized good for fishing also makes them great for paddling and sailing. I chose their Hatteras design with Black Tortoise frames and Atlantic Blue lenses. These have been my favorite sunglasses for water activities since getting them.

As with all our reviews, we’ll give you all the good and bad whether we paid for the item ourselves or not. Keep reading for all the details.

Stylish appearance

The styling of the Redfin Hatteras sunglasses is very modern with a classic casual style. They are extremely lightweight with flexible spring hinges and easy under ball cap stems. This makes them perfect for everyday wear and for those who like to keep things simple. The frames are available in several different colors, so you can find the perfect pair to match your style.

Polarized

What makes these sunglasses so great for paddleboarding is the fact that they are able to reduce the glare from the water. Polarized lenses only allow light to pass from certain directions. They filter out light from reflections and glare. They use the absolute best polarized lenses available. This means you won’t see glare and your eyes are better protected from the suns rays. This makes it easier to see where you are going and helps to avoid any potential hazards. It makes it easier to read the wind on the water surface.

Lenses by Carl Zeiss Vision

Refin pulled out all the stops with the lenses. They went to the experts, Carl Zeiss Vision, to make sure their sunglasses have the best possible lenses. Carl Zeiss is known for producing high quality camera lenses and other high performance optics. The Zeiss lenses on the Redfin Polarized sunglasses have excellent clarity and very low distortion.

These sunglasses are super clear and they don’t leave you wishing for less distortion or darker lenses or anything else. I have zero complaints at all about how they perform on the water.

Anti-fog and scratch coating

The lenses are also treated with an anti-fog coating, which means that you won’t have to worry about them steaming up when you are out on the water. This coating also protects the lenses from scratches and other damage. Not only will your Redfin Sunglasses look great, but they will be fog free and won’t scratch either. We have worn them for several long days of hard paddling and in hot humid weather and never had any issues with them fogging.

Italian made frames

The Redfin Hatteras frames are manufactured in Italy using the latest and best manufacturing processes. They use stainless steel spring hinges so you don’t have to worry about breaking the hings or frame. They have held up very well to use so far with no looseness in the ear pieces.

Comfort

Redfin Hatteras Sunglasses are also extremely comfortable to wear. They have molded in nose pieces with rubber inserts for comfort and durability. Their lightweight design means you won’t even feel like you are wearing them. The spring tension in the hinges feels just about right for a snug secure feeling fit that doesn’t put too much pressure on the side of your head.

Overall they feel light on your head and give full coverage for your eyes. I can wear these sunglasses all day without feeling any pressure on the side of my head or getting a headache from ear pressure.
